Franklin Appalachian Trail Community Council

The Franklin Appalachian Trail Community Council supports hikers passing through Franklin, North Carolina, which in 2010 became the first town designated an Appalachian Trail Community. The council promotes Franklin as a resupply and rest stop near mile 110 of the trail, pointing hikers to outfitters, shuttles, lodging, and other local hiker services. Its programming centers on welcoming and celebrating thru-hikers and connecting them with the surrounding outdoor community.
