Fonds De Preservation De La Biodiversite Au Gabon Inc

The Fonds de Preservation de la Biodiversite au Gabon is a conservation trust fund created in July 2023 through a headquarters agreement between the government of Gabon and The Nature Conservancy. It is capitalized by a debt for nature conversion known as Blue Bonds, which restructures 500 million dollars of Gabonese national debt at a reduced negotiated rate to free roughly 163 million dollars over ten years for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. The fund mobilizes financing for biodiversity initiatives and supports projects selected by the Gabonese government in line with its conservation policies, with an emphasis on preserving and sustainably managing the country's marine and forest habitats and resources.
