First Peoples Conservation Council Of Louisiana

The First Peoples' Conservation Council of Louisiana is an association formed to give Native American tribes in coastal Louisiana a forum to identify and solve natural resource issues on their tribal lands. It aims to become a conservation model for restoring the lands, waters and air of the First Peoples in Louisiana, and to make federal and state conservation programs work for them through education and demonstration. Its work with member tribal communities includes prescribed burn training, climate change monitoring, sacred site protection, agriculture and food sovereignty projects, and youth retreats.
