Dutchess Land Conservancy is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to preserving the rural character, important resources, and open lands of Dutchess County, New York. Founded in 1985 in response to a proposed large development on several farms, it now holds more than 450 conservation easements covering over 48,000 acres of forest, farmland, watershed, and open space. Its work spans five program areas: land conservation, community engagement through education, climate resiliency, stewardship of land under its care, and connecting farmers with land to farm.
