Dunkard Creek Watershed Assn Inc

The Dunkard Creek Watershed Association was created in 1995 with assistance from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, as part of a statewide movement toward public stewardship of natural resources. It works on Dunkard Creek, which drains 150,177 acres across West Virginia and Pennsylvania, is formed by the confluence of the West Virginia and Pennsylvania Forks, and flows 36 miles into the Monongahela River near Poland Mines, Pennsylvania. Its site covers watershed projects, float trips, and the 2009 golden algae bloom that killed the creek's fish, mudpuppies, hellbenders, crayfish and 17 mussel species.
