Cumberland Valley Rails To Trails Endowment Fund

The Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council is an all-volunteer nonprofit developing the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail along a former railroad corridor linking Shippensburg and Newville in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, with access extending toward Carlisle. It describes its purpose as conservation, historic preservation, recreation, and alternative transportation in the Cumberland Valley, and it seeks to preserve and share the region's railroad heritage. The council established this endowment fund to secure the trail's long term future, funding maintenance of the trail, museum, sculptures, and other amenities as well as land purchases needed to extend it.
