Cultivating Currents is a youth science nonprofit that pairs hands-on research with equity-focused education, helping young people trace the connections between how food is grown, how rivers flow, and how oceans fare. Its flagship Living Loop Lab is a 6,000-mile expedition around America's Great Loop, running as a floating research station where youth participants collect water quality data aligned with NOAA standards across 18 states. A second program, Street Science, brings educational kits and hands-on learning to homeschoolers, libraries, and youth experiencing homelessness or foster care involvement. The organization is an official citizen science partner of NOAA's Phytoplankton Monitoring Network.
