Congaree Land Trust

Congaree Land Trust promotes voluntary conservation of scenic lands, open spaces, farms, forests, natural areas, and significant habitats in central South Carolina. It works primarily through conservation easements, permanent legal agreements that prevent development while allowing landowners to continue living on and managing their property, and it engages businesses and communities in conservation. Over roughly 30 years it has conserved more than 90,000 acres across 202 properties in the 14-county Midlands region.
