The Community Justice Land Trust promotes equitable development through community ownership in Philadelphia. Incorporated in 2010 out of a resident-led planning process in Eastern North Philadelphia, it acquires land by gift or purchase and keeps permanent ownership, leasing it long term so housing on it stays affordable through resale. It now holds rental and rent-to-own homes in Port Richmond, Germantown, Point Breeze, Gray's Ferry, Mantua, and Haddington, guided by an advisory committee of residents and stakeholders.
