Alamo RC&D, established in 1993 and based in Boerne, Texas, works to help rural communities meet local needs by protecting water and land resources, encouraging environmental sustainability, and promoting agriculture. It serves a ten-county area covering Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina and Wilson Counties. Programs include agricultural and environmental stewardship workshops, the Growing Rural Youth Garden Program, Youth 4 Earth, a senior assistance program with a food pantry, disaster relief, and community development.
